Tenuta Montevitolo / The estate
Life at the masseria

We are not a venue: we are a living farm that opens its doors to your celebration.

Here we prune, harvest the grapes, press the olives and cook all year round, even on the day you say yes. That is the difference you taste in the glass and see in the details.

The masseria's year

JAN → DEC · ALWAYS
January
Pruning the olive trees
Branch after branch, with our own hands: this is where tomorrow's harvest is prepared. In the cold air the wood smells of winter, while the kitchen fireplace stays lit all day.
February
Pruning the vines
Bud after bud, with our own hands. The earth is hard and silent, and every cut writes the season to come.

April
The vine shoots wake up
The first shoots appear on the canes, fragile and green, like a new breath returning after winter.
May
The blossom
Among the silver branches, the olive tree opens into flower. The air turns fragrant and light, and the landscape hangs in a luminous calm.
August
Under the stars
The sky opens over the Masseria, full of stars, and the night feels closer to the earth than to time.
September
The grape harvest
The grape harvest is done at night, by machine: from the vineyard to the winery in a few minutes, with the grapes still fresh. The must perfumes the air all the way to the Corte, as anyone who marries in September knows.

October
Now
Primitivo dried on the vine
The grapes stay on the vine, growing darker and lighter, concentrating the time and sun of summer. The landscape quietens, while the harvest becomes waiting.
November
The new oil
The olive mill never sleeps: the olives arrive within a few hours and the oil flows green. Green gold that smells of grass and living fruit. The family gathers, and in the first taste you recognise the smile of a season fulfilled.

December
The pantry
Full baskets, preserves and the red wine resting in the barrel cellar. The masseria slows down, but never stops entirely: inside, everything keeps ripening in silence.

Keep exploring

This is where our wine and olive oil are made: the wines of the estate and the extra virgin olive oil can be ordered from the shop. The masseria can also be visited in person, with a tasting in the winery, and its story is that of the Alicino family.
