Our story
Since 1859, olive oil, wine and one single family, now in its fourth generation. What follows happened exactly this way.
Saverio Alicino and his wife Rosaria, great-grandparents of today's generation, start processing and selling oil and wine. Saverio takes the wine to the North of Italy in a large wooden barrel: today it is on display in the winery. Our story starts here, in 1859.
At four in the morning, before the olive picking, Saverio offered his workers pane cotto (cooked bread), to warm them at the hearth among the olive trees. Hence the family nickname: «Pancotto».

The family has kept the nickname «Pancotto», as was the custom in the past in place of a surname. We hold on to it dearly.
The conversion to organic farming, when it seemed madness: lower yields, more work, no certainty. We did it anyway, because it was the way this land had always been treated, before there was a word for it.

We are in the fourth generation. The masseria is historic, mentioned in history books for the events of the brigandage: we acquired and restored it, and today it is a home for guests, for couples, for wine and for olive oil. «We are a family. This is the engine of our projects, our greatest good fortune.»
The story goes on in the fields: the estate today, and the wines and the extra virgin olive oil that come from it.
